Register Consumer

Description

PI's mobile application needs to call Register Consumer API for Payer registration. When the Payer initiates a registration in PI's mobile application, the Payer Institute will create a unique Consumer Id. If PI has configured to send push notifications to PI's mobile application, a notification token is sent to PI`s mobile application.

PI's mobile application will use this unique Consumer Id along with the notification token to identify Payer. Bill Pay Accelerator will use this Consumer Id across all other process flows. PI`s mobile application will also pass this notification token along with Consumer Id during this process.

If the push notification token expires on the PI side, PI will resend a new notification token. Bill Pay Accelerator can call Update Consumer API to update the new notification token.

A consumer account can be closed by calling Update Consumer API by providing the status as “closed”. If consumer status is closed, irrespective of any payment preferences bill gets automatically declined. Bill Pay Accelerator sends Payment confirmation advice request to Bill Pay Exchange with transaction status as ‘DECL’ and reason as ‘AC04’ i.e. account is closed. In this case, PI`s mobile application will not receive any notification as the consumer account is closed.
